B12 - Robert Walker Snr Family, 1592

see cht. 3-2

Robert Walker was born 1592 in Littletown, of Birstall Parish, Yorkshire, England and was baptised on 17 Nov. 1592 in the Birstall Parish Church of St. Peter, the son of Wilfrey Walker (1562).

Above is a very small section from the Christening records. The second line reads "Robert sonne of Wilfrey Walker of Littletown, 17 November",1592

Below is a copy of a small portion of the Marriage records of St. Peter's, which includes the marriage of Robert Walker (1592) and Anne Peele, in 1621. The document has been reduced to show only a few lines. Robert and Anne's record is the second from the bottom and reads: Robert Walker and Anne Peel the one and twentth of January.

The ceremony was conducted by the Vicar, Richard Marshe.

Robert and Anne had one child, born at Littletown:-

Ann Peele died in 1623 and was buried on 16 May of that same year. It would seem reasonable to assume that, though it was a year after the birth of her son, her demise was caused by same.

Robert Walker (1592), being the only son of Wilfrey Walker, it would seem fair to say that he in all probability inherited his father's estate, which we know consisted of at least 4 acres, 3 roods and 19 perches of land, (see Wilfrey Walker's biography No. 07, a part of this Collection).

Robert Walker died in 1683 and was buried on 6 Nov. 1683, at St. Peter’s Church, Birstall.

Note:- All dates above are "Old Calendar" dates. That means that the first Month of the Year was March.
