B77 - Elizabeth Walker, 1836

see cht. 10-12

Elizabeth Ann Walker was born in Maryland, New York, of the United States of America in 1836, the 3rd child of Thomas E. (1798) and Ann (maiden name unknown) Walker.

The Quaker records show that Elizabeth removed by certificate from the “Purchase Monthly Meeting” to the “New York Monthly Meeting” with her parents in Nov. 1836. It would appear from the birth records as shown in Biog. 50 that Elizabeth and her brother William Thomas were twins, and that William died on the same day as they were born.

On 16 April, Elizabeth married David Tweedie (of Hardwick Monthly Meeting). David was born in Scotland in 1833. His parents names are, at this time, unknown It is not known exactly when he and his family emigrated to the U.S.A. However he later became a “Stock Broker” in New York. The 1880 Census of New York City shows that Elizabeth and David had 3 children, all born in New York:-

Little is know of the children at this time. The 1880 Census does say that Montague and Mary M. were at school at that time.

David Tweedy died 7-7-1906
