Robert I. Walker was born in Cronton, Westchester, New York, U. S. A. on 24 January 1834, the 6th child of Robert J. Walker (1795) and the 1st child of his 2nd wife, Hannah L. Lawrence.

In 17 March, 1856 Robert married Maria Louisa Platt who was born 5 July 1835.

Robert and Maria had 2 children as far as it is known. It is assumed that they were both born in Cronton, New York.

The CR for 10th July 1860 shows Robert Walker age 25, his wife Maria Walker age 25 and their sons Richard age 4 and Robert age 1 living at Dwelling house no 207, 4th District, 21st Ward, NY, NY. Robert’s occupation is given as Commercial merchant, VRE 4K and VPE 8K.

Richard L Walker married Anna T. Valentine Griffin on 5-2-1880. See Biog 126 & TC 11-24 & 12-27.

Also at the house were Elizabeth Walker age 54 and William Walker age 14, plus 2 servants. All Walkers were shown as having been born in New York.

Robert died 6-8-1868 and his wife Maria on 29-3-1880.
